Court recognized for specialty programs

The Eighth Judicial District Court was honored with the “Star Award” from the Nevada Association of Court Executives.

The court was recognized for its leadership, fiscal responsibility and innovation with its specialty courts program aimed at getting help to nonviolent criminals such as drug addicts, while keeping them out of jail.

Chief Judge Jennifer Togliatti said, “This award is a credit to the outstanding work that our judges do every day, and to their unwavering commitment to ensure that justice is served in a timely and impartial manner. It is also a credit to the hard work and dedication of all of our court employees.”

About 100,000 criminal, civil and family cases are filed each year in the Eighth Judicial District Court.
