Double-slaying suspect indicted in domestic violence case

A 22-year-old man accused of the slayings and sexual assaults of a mother and daughter was indicted by a grand jury on three felony counts in an unrelated domestic violence case.

Bryan Clay faces two counts of child abuse and neglect and one count of robbery in the assault, on at least two occasions in February and March, of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, who is pregnant with his child.

Prosecutor Kristen Kramer asked District Judge Linda Bell that Clay be held on $90,000 bail in the domestic violence case. Bell agreed. Clay remained jailed at the Clark County Detention Center without bail on the murder charges.

An arraignment hearing was set for June 28 before Judge James Bixler.

Police allege that Clay on April 15, while drunk and high on drugs, sexually assaulted a 50-year-old woman near the intersection of Vegas and Tonopah drives and then went to the home at 1016 Robin St.

Once inside, investigators say Clay used a claw hammer to pummel Arturo Martinez, 39, and sexual assault and beat to death both his wife, Ignacia "Yadira" Martinez, 38, and daughter, Karla Martinez, 10. Arturo Martinez survived the attack.

The couple's two sons, 9 and 4 years old, were not attacked.
