Elderly driver killed in three-vehicle collision

A 94-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash in the west valley, Las Vegas police said.

The Las Vegas man’s name was not released.

The accident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard near Hualapai Way.

Police said the elderly man was driving a Chevrolet Impala north on Apple Drive approaching Charleston when he lost control.

The Impala crossed the sidewalk, entered Charleston against a red light and collided with a Chevrolet pickup that entered the intersection on a green light.

Both the pickup and Impala traveled northeast, crossing the median into westbound Charleston. The pickup then struck a Nissan Versa. The driver of the Versa was uninjured.
