Fight leads to fatal shooting in central valley

A shooting in the central valley Monday night left one man dead and Las Vegas police seeking the gunman.

Officers responded to calls of gunfire near 1500 Harris Avenue, near Washington Avenue and Bruce Street, just before 7:30 p.m., Lt. Dave Valenta said.

Two men were involved in some kind of fight when one man shot the other, police said. The wounded man was found in a parking lot and was transported to University Medical Center where he later died.

The gunman fled in an unidentified vehicle and is still at large, Valenta said.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
