Henderson municipal judge receives CSN Legacy of Achievement award

The College of Southern Nevada Foundation Board of Trustees has named Henderson Municipal Judge Diana Hampton a recipient of the 2012 Legacy of Achievement award.

Initiated in 2007, the Legacy of Achievement program recognizes community leaders who have made significant contributions to their local community and support lifelong learning.

Hampton was formally recognized at CSN's annual Legacy of Achievement Gala. The CSN Foundation organizes the gala each year to raise funds for CSN scholarships and programs. More than 500 guests supported this year's event and raised more than $300,000.

Handling adult and juvenile offenders, Hampton frequently advocates education. She has served as municipal judge in Department 3 since June 2005.

Before being elected, Hampton prosecuted misdemeanors as a deputy city attorney in Henderson.

As a recipient of the Legacy of Achievement award, Hampton will have an endowed scholarship at CSN in her name.
