A High Desert State Prison inmate serving time for attempted sexual assault died Wednesday.

David William Parks, 55, collapsed from what appeared to be natural causes in the dining room of the Indian Springs facility, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Medical personnel immediately responded and provided emergency care, but Parks was pronounced dead.

The body was released to the Clark County coroner’s office for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Parks was serving a six- to 15-year sentence for two counts of attempted sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16, according to the Department of Corrections.
