I-15 crash victim dies

A Colorado woman injured in an automobile accident last week died of her injuries on Tuesday.

The Nevada Highway Patrol issued a news release Friday that said Amy Flack Sowers, 54, was a passenger in a Nissan Sentra that was rear-ended June 9 on Interstate 15.

The collision caused the car to spin out of the southbound lanes and into a gravel embankment, where the car overturned, according to the release.

Sowers and the driver of the Nissan, a 61-year-old man from Craig, Colo., were airlifted to University Medical Center.

The driver of the Honda Civic that struck the Nissan, a Woodland Hills, Calif., man who was not identified, was also taken to UMC.

Patrol officials did not say what caused the crash or what consequences, if any, the California man will face.

All three people were wearing their seat belts.
