A four vehicle crash including an RTC bus Sunday night that left one person in critical condition was caused by a truck that ran a red light, authorities said.
According to Las Vegas police, the incident occurred just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Mead and Lamb boulevards.
Failing to stop for a red traffic signal, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling east on Lake Mead struck a 2002 Nissan Maxima in the intersection. The Nissan struck a 2012 Hyundai Sonata waiting at a red light, and both cars crashed into the adjacent 2012 New Flyer bus, police said.
The 63-year-old driver of the Nissan was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The 20-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, both occupants of the Hyundai and one person on the bus reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Las Vegas police told the Review-Journal that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash Sunday night. No arrests had been made Monday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.
