Investigation of motorcycle gang violence leads to 11 arrests

An investigation of motorcycle gang violence led to the arrests of 11 suspects Wednesday in various northwest Arizona communities and in Southern Nevada.

Officers with the Arizona State Gang Task Force executed 21 search and arrest warrants in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley and Lake Havasu City, all in Arizona, as well as Laughlin.

"The arrests culminated an eight-month investigation into the resurgence of violent crimes related to the Vagos Motorcycle Gang in the Bullhead City area," stated a press release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. "There have been several incidents where Vagos members and their followers have been involved in violent encounters involving patrons of local bars."

The latest incident occurred Dec. 23, 2011, when authorities say several Vagos members beat a patron who was dragged out of Lazy Harry's Lounge in Bullhead City. The investigation into the violence in Bullhead City coincided with a separate investigation of the Vagos chapter in Lake Havasu City.
