Kingman boy killed in accident identified
KINGMAN, Ariz. — Police have released the name of the 4-year-old boy who was killed Friday when he was run over by a pickup truck driven by his stepfather.
Gerardo Michael Ruiz was dead at the scene of the accident that occurred on residential property in the 3900 block of Lomita Avenue.
Police Sgt. Dave Reif said the boy’s mother and stepfather had unloaded about 20 bales of hay into a garage before the accident. He said the boy was told to remain in the garage as his stepfather pulled forward from the entrance and began backing up along the side of the structure.
Reif said the boy moved to the side of the garage where he was run over as the truck backed up. He said no charges will be filed in the incident.
