Las Vegas police identify officers involved in fatal shooting

Three Las Vegas police officers involved in a fatal shooting of a man accused of brandishing a weapon during an encounter with the officers Monday were identified Wednesday.

The officers who fired their weapons are Michael Henry, 41, Samantha Wimmer, 24, and Michele Iacullo, 33.

Police said Henry was hired in September 2003; Wimmer in October, 2009 and Iacullo in January, 2003.

On Tuesday, police identified the man who was killed as Ronald James Morrison, 52.

The shooting occurred about 3 p.m. outside the Ross Dress for Less store, 2420 E. Desert Inn Road, near Eastern Avenue.

Morrison, of Las Vegas, was suspected of shooting a man shortly before his confrontation with police.

The victim in the earlier shooting had been struck in the hand and was expected to recover.

Police said Morrison refused their commands and produced a weapon from his waistband.

Henry, Wimmer and Iacullo have been placed on paid administrative leave.cullo have been placed on paid administrative leave.
