Man dies after being punched in apartment complex fight

A man was killed after an altercation while barbecuing in the courtyard of an east valley apartment complex on Friday, Las Vegas police said.

According to police, the man - identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Kary Wells - was barbecuing with neighbors when two men began shouting at him at the complex on Charleston Boulevard, near Mojave Road. The two men approached Wells, and one of them punched him in the face before fleeing on foot.

Responding officers found Wells, 37, unresponsive upon arrival. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he later died.

The man who punched Wells is described by police as a black male in his early to mid-20s with long hair and a tattoo on his neck. The second suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early twenties.
