Man dies after car strikes two pedestrians

A 28-year-old pedestrian died early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on Naples Drive, east of Paradise Road.

Las Vegas police said the Las Vegas man, whose identity has not been released, was crossing the street outside a crosswalk with Adrienne Unis, a 41-year-old Las Vegas woman, around 5 a.m. when the eastbound vehicle struck them both.

The male pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Unis was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Henderson resident Jason Glover, failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested on a drunken-driving charge. Paul McCarty, 22, of North Las Vegas, was a passenger in the vehicle.

The collision remains under investigation. This was the 37th traffic-related fatality Las Vegas police have investigated this year.
