A 43-year-old man was arrested Saturday, accused of fatally shooting two people over the age of 60, Las Vegas police said Sunday.
Police said Joseph McManus called officers to a home shortly before 9 p.m. Friday after he discovered what he said were his parents’ bodies inside their home in the 4300 block of Cottontail Lane, near Flamingo and Pecos roads.
The identity of the deceased man and woman were not released.
Initial reports said the man shot his wife then turned the gun on himself, police said.
The male victim was dead inside the home. The female victim died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
Police said the man and woman were shot by McManus. Police did not specify what evidence linked McManus to the shooting or what led to the altercation.
The investigation was ongoing.
According to Clark County Detention Center records, McManus will have a preliminary court hearing Wednesday. He was in the Clark County Detention Center on Sunday on no bail.
