Man swallows bag of cocaine, dies after arrest

A 43-year-old man died Wednesday after apparently swallowing a bag of cocaine just before police arrested him.

Las Vegas police said Thursday paramedics were immediately called to the scene after the arrest.

The Clark County coroner's office identified the man Thursday afternoon as Anthony Barrett of Las Vegas.

His cause and manner of death have not been determined yet.

Barrett was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died.

Police were investigating the death.
