A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in the western Las Vegas Valley Tuesday afternoon.
According to Las Vegas police, the collision between the motorcycle and a second vehicle happened about 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Durango Drive.
The motorcyclist died shortly after being transported to University Medical Center, police said.
Las Vegas police spokeswoman Officer Laura Meltzer said that it did not appear that any other people were transported to the hospital.
The intersection was closed to traffic while the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fatal Detail investigates the crash.
“It will be closed down for sometime,” Meltzer said.
The identity of the motorcyclist will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
