Motorcyclist dies after hitting van

A 55-year-old man died Friday morning after he crashed a motorcycle into a van.

Las Vegas police said the man, whose name was not released, crashed a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle into a 1987 Toyota van stopped at a red light at the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue about 3 a.m.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. It was the 19th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas this year.

The driver of the van suffered minor injuries.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s name after his next of kin is notified.
