The beaten body of man was found in a vacant lot in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North on Wednesday night, Las Vegas police said.

Homicide detectives began investigating after police were called about 6 p.m. and found the body, which had suffered multiple injuries, possibly “a result of blunt-force trauma,” police said.

It was not known when the man was injured and any motive in hurting the man remained unknown, police said Thursday night.

The man will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
