North Las Vegas police still searching for man involved in shooting

North Las Vegas police are searching for a suspect in a convenience store shooting near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive on Wednesday night.

Police received reports of a shooting victim at an AM/PM store around 10 p.m. at 2000 East Cheyenne Avenue.

Investigators said the suspect entered the store, held two clerks at gunpoint and demanded money. One of the clerks tried to use a stun gun on the suspect.

The suspect shot the clerk once and then fled to a nearby casino, according to police. He remains at large.

The 31-year-old victim was transported to University Medical Center Trauma with nonlife threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a 5-feet-10-inch black male, weighing around 200 pounds and about 50 years old.
