One killed in single-vehicle crash

A 71-year-old man was killed Monday morning after he crashed a car into a brick wall.

Las Vegas police said the man, whose name was not released, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet HHR south on Walnut Drive, near Owens Avenue, when the car drifted right, struck a curb and was redirected into oncoming traffic just after 11 a.m.

The car crashed into a wall, receiving minor damage. The driver died at North Vista Hospital.

It’s unclear if a medical episode preceded the crash, police said. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s name and determine his cause of death.
