Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in North Las Vegas

A man injured after being struck by vehicle while crossing the street last week has died, North Las Vegas police said Thursday.

The identity of the deceased man was not released by the Clark County coroner's office.

Police said the man died Wednesday.

On Friday at 9:35 p.m., officers responded to Owens Avenue and Stocker Street.

The injured man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Preliminary information indicates a 59-year-old Las Vegas man was driving a Nissan truck west on Owens. The second man was attempting to cross Owens when he was struck.

Police said the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.

The incident was the sixth vehicle-related fatality of 2012 in North Las Vegas.
