Pedestrian in serious condition at UMC after being hit by SUV

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday morning is in serious condition.
A 1999 Dodge Durango was traveling south on Fairfield Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard South and Sahara Avenue about 1:30 a.m. when it crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road, according to Las Vegas police.
While trying to gain control of the vehicle, the driver entered the parking lot of a 7-Eleven at 200 W. Boston Ave.
The Dodge hit the pedestrian and an unoccupied 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in the parking lot.
The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving, according to police.
