Police: Aspiring go-go dancer arrested in club shooting

Maxwell Felch Mullen, 24, was an aspiring go-go dancer at Share Nightclub located near Wynn Road and Tropicana Avenue.

That was cut short early Sunday morning when Mullen was arrested on charges of attempted murder after making threats and firing several shots at the gay nightclub’s security officers, according to Las Vegas police.

According to police reports, Mullen was escorted by security out of the nightclub about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and was “visibly intoxicated and acting irate.”

After being taken out of the club with his belongings, Mullen began shouting threats that he was going to get his gun out of his car and start shooting, witnesses told police.

Mullen went to his white 2011 Volkswagen, pulled out his Glock 23 from the glove compartment, and fired two rounds at Amir Coralic, the club’s director of security, police said.

Both shots missed, and Coralic wrestled Mullen to the ground. While on the ground, Mullen managed to fire four additional shots, again injuring no one, police reports said.

“Thankfully he missed,” said Share Nightclub owner Michael Crisp in a statement released on the club’s Facebook page. “I cannot thank my staff enough for handling a difficult situation with such professionalism and calm.”

When police arrived, Mullen told them that he was afraid for his life, and wanted the security guards to be arrested.

Mullen sustained injuries to his face and he claimed that he lost consciousness. According to reports, while at the hospital after he was arrested, Mullen asked one of the officers: “Did anyone get hurt? I wasn’t aiming.”

Mullen was booked on one charge of attempted murder and is being held on $200,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center, county booking logs indicate.
