Police investigating fatal shooting near UNLV

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in an alley not far from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.

Authorities said they received multiple calls a little before noon Friday about a shooting on East Harmon Avenue and Spencer Street.

Police officer Bill Cassell said the male victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, and was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Cassell said no one has been arrested. He said multiple vehicles were seen leaving the area.

The identity of the person who was killed was not immediately released.
