Police: Man shot in head, condition unknown
A man was shot in the side of the head in the central valley on Friday, according to Las Vegas police.
Police and rescue crews were called about 6:30 p.m. to the Pine Hills Lodge Apartments, 1500 Karen Ave., near Maryland Parkway, Clark County Fire Department call logs show.
A man only described as Hispanic was shot in the side of the head, Metro Lt. Michael Mauntel said. The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
Mauntel said the shooting occurred at an apartment that wasn't rented. Metro hadn't received an update on the man's condition about 8 p.m.
Witnesses told police they saw two black men and one black woman walking west on Karen, away from the scene, Mauntel said.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known, Mauntel said.
