Police probe shooting of two teens in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas police on Monday continued to investigate a weekend shooting that put two 18-year-olds in the hospital.

Officers responded to the corner of Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard about 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The two teens, one male and one female, were found inside different businesses nearby with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

As of Saturday night, one of the teens was in critical condition, Sgt. Tim Bedwell said. Both teens are at University Medical Center.

Bedwell said the shooting was probably not a random event but doesn't appear to be gang-related.
