Police search for 2 men in Las Vegas slaying
August 15, 2015 - 5:00 pm
A man was fatally shot Saturday in an east valley shopping center, leaving Metro in search of two men and a car police said were involved in his slaying.
The slain man, in his 20s, crashed a white 1990s GMC Yukon near where the shooting started on Stewart, just west of Walnut Road, police Lt. Dan McGrath said.
At least 10 rounds from two weapons were fired between the slain man and two other men, police said. The two men fled in a gray 2015 Chrysler 200 with a licence plate beginning with #078 or #07B.
Police say the Chrysler "might be" a stolen vehicle, and it likely has bullet holes visible from the outside. The men left an automatic ignition key at the scene, McGrath said.
One of the men had long hair he wore in a ponytail, McGrath said.
Officers arrived less than two minutes after they were called to the scene about 4:30 p.m., McGrath said. Police said they didn't know how or why the shooting began.
The slain man, only described as being Hispanic with gang-related tattoos, will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
Metro is asking anyone with information on the location of the men to contact its Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or homicide@lvmpd.com.
