Police seek those involved in northeast valley shooting

Las Vegas police investigating a shooting in the northeast valley on Thursday afternoon were unable to find those involved, according to police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of Cecile Avenue, near Cheyenne Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, after receiving multiple calls of a shooting at 2:45 p.m. They found possible bullet impacts near an area apartment complex but not the injured person whom callers said fled.

Meltzer said officers are interviewing witnesses in an attempt to identify those involved in the shooting. If police can’t do that, they’ll likely take a report and notify nearby hospitals to be on the watch for a gunshot victim, she said.

“At this point, we’re looking for a victim,” she said.
