Teen shot in road rage encounter

A teenager was shot in the head and ear during a road rage incident, Las Vegas police said Tuesday evening.

Police received a call shortly after 5 p.m. about a vehicle collision that turned violent.

Police spokesman Hans Walters said a male teenager, driving a Jeep, and a man believed to be in his 30s, driving a truck, pulled into a parking lot after a collision in the 6200 block of McLeod Drive, near Patrick Lane. The man rammed his truck into the jeep and shot the teen twice, police said.

The injured teen was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and is expected to recover.

The suspect stayed at the scene and surrendered to police. Walters said the man has been detained and will face charges in the shooting.
