Three indicted for death of man beaten with bricks, broomstick

Three people face murder charges in the April slaying and robbery of a 37-year-old man.

Eric Shawn Orduna, Jonathan Reyes and Amber Montoya were indicted Wednesday in the April 10 killing of Abraham Mathews.

Mathews’ body, with wrists and ankles handcuffed, was found near Pecos Road and Owens Avenue. He died of blunt-force trauma to the head, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Las Vegas police believe the three defendants beat Mathews to death with a broomstick and bricks from a fireplace. A witness told police that Mathews had bragged about having a lot of money.

District Judge Linda Bell ordered all three to be held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
