Trio stands accused of running car repair scam in Las Vegas

The Nevada attorney general's office said Monday that three people have been indicted on multiple theft charges arising from their operation of 702 Auto Care, a Las Vegas automotive repair shop.

In a statement, the office said Harold Gomez, Jose Gomez and Yader "Tony" Gomez are accused of keeping money from 702 Auto Care customers for car repairs that were promised but never performed.

The Department of Motor Vehicles investigated the case after receiving numerous complaints about misrepresentations made by the Gomezes. Some people complained that they'd paid several thousand dollars for engine rebuilds or replacements that were never received, the attorney general's office said.

The attorney general's Bureau of Consumer Protection is prosecuting the case.
