Woman in critical condition after hit-and-run accident

A hit-and-run driver left a pedestrian in critical condition Monday night near downtown Las Vegas, police said.
A passing motorist found the unidentified woman about 7:45 p.m. lying in the northbound travel lanes of Fremont Street, south of Oakey Boulevard. She had severe facial trauma and was unresponsive.
A large, broken driver's side mirror housing and other debris was lying in the roadway near the woman.
She was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center with critical injuries.
Police suspect a large truck or SUV hit the woman.
