Woman sentenced to prison for fatal hit-and-run on I-15

A 31-year-old woman was sentenced Thursday to six to 13 years in prison for her role in a fatal hit-and-run crash in January.

Natalie Dawn Dubuisson pleaded guilty in April to reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident, both felonies, for the crash that led to the death of Inaya Sabra.

Dubuisson was sentenced by District Judge Abbi Silver.

Authorities said Dubisson was driving a Mercedes that slammed into two vehicles on Interstate 15 south of state Route 160 about 2 a.m. Jan. 11.

Dubuisson, of Las Vegas, was driving in the southbound lanes when she rear-ended a GMC pickup, sending it rolling off the road. She then rear-ended a Mitsubishi Montero, sending that vehicle rolling.

Sabra, the Montero's driver, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. She died a few hours later at University Medical Center.

Dubuisson fled the scene on foot and was missing until she turned herself in to authorities in March.

An arrest warrant was issued for Dubuisson after her DNA was found on the Mercedes' air bag.
