Woman stabbed to death identified

A 43-year-old woman who died Wednesday after Henderson police said she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend was identified by the Clark County coroner's office Thursday as Candace Moffett.

Police said 59-year-old Gary D. Gaston of Henderson stabbed Moffett.

He was booked into the city jail on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon.

Police said Gaston went to Moffett's home on Rising Brook Drive about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and stabbed her.

When police arrived at the home, Gaston was there. Police said he admitted to the stabbing.

Moffett died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center about 5:30 p.m.
