Wynn legal fees to be paid by Okada, U.S. judge decides

Kazuo Okada and affiliated companies must pay nearly $149,000 in Wynn's Resorts Ltd. legal fees for a failed attempt to move part of their legal fight from Clark County District Court to U.S. District Court.

Wynn filed the case Feb. 19 to validate the forced redemption of Okada's 20 percent stake in the company at a 30 percent discount. The Okada side shifted the dispute to federal court.

On June 21, U.S. District Court Judge Larry Hicks decided the case revolved around state court issues and ordered it returned. Okada's attorneys have since indicated they would file another case under federal securities laws.

Hicks entered an order on Tuesday granting the Wynn side all of the legal bills it had requested.
