Driver arrested in crash that killed 2 men Saturday in northwest Las Vegas

Two men were killed and another was arrested after a crash Saturday night in the northwest valley, Las Vegas police said.

Just after 8:10 p.m., officers responded to North Rainbow Boulevard and West Smoke Ranch Road, where a U-turning Hyundai Sonata was struck by a Chevrolet Camaro, police said.

The two men in the Hyundai were pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the Chevrolet’s driver was speeding.

The 25-year-old man driving the Chevrolet, Willie Worthams, was taken to University Medical Center. Police said he showed signs of impairment and was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence involving death and two counts of reckless driving involving death.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the deceased men’s identities once family has been notified.

Police are investigating the crash.
