’12 Years a Slave’ featured by Legend
November 28, 2013 - 10:36 pm
If you thought John Legend was digging back into music history for the ’60s-activist collection “Wake Up!,” wait until you hear the soundtrack for “12 Years a Slave.”
Legend helmed a “Music From and Inspired by” album of companion songs for the acclaimed movie drama, also contributing an a cappella version of the spiritual “Roll Jordan Roll” and the sparsely arranged “Move.”
On tour, Legend has been offering the more classy R&B you’d expect from the man who gave us “Ordinary People” and “Stay With You.”
Opening the show is Tamar Braxton, of “Tamar &Vince” reality-TV fame and youngest sister of former Flamingo headliner Toni Braxton.
