300th Army Band to perform in Henderson

Classic, patriotic and contemporary music will be performed by the 300th Army Band at a free concert at 8 p.m. today at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St., Henderson.

The 30-member band is made up of Army Reserve soldiers and is based at the Patton Army Reserve Center in Bell, Calif. Members reside in the area stretching from San Diego to Las Vegas and hold civilian jobs both in and outside music.

During the past 15 years, the band has performed at a variety of community and military events throughout the nation. Its members have supported humanitarian aid missions in El Salvador and Panama.
