UNLV announces lineups for performing arts series

Branford Marsalis, saxophonist Paul Taylor, the Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico (the State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico), Tango Buenos Aires and the “Jersey Boys” alumni known as the Midtown Men lead the lineup for the 2014-15 season at UNLV’s Performing Arts Center.

Marsalis, a Grammy-winning saxophonist and Tony-nominated composer, will lead the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Oct. 18 in “Well Tempered,” which spotlights baroque masterworks by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.

Speaking of saxophones, UNLV alumnus Taylor returns to his alma mater to perform Nov. 7.

Original Broadway “Jersey Boys” cast members — Tony-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony nominee J. Robert Spencer — will sing ’60s pop hits as the Midtown Men Feb. 14.

Tickets for the four series presented at UNLV (the Charles Vanda Master Series, the UNLV Performing Arts Center Series, the Chamber Music Series and the Allegro Guitar Series) are now on sale; for more information, call 702-895-2787 or visit pac.unlv.edu.
