Bennington’s reliability a big change for Stone Temple Pilots

It’s like swapping shaky hands for a steady grip.
Having replaced Scott Weiland with Chester Bennington, Stone Temple Pilots have gone from volatility to reliability.
Here’s the thing, though: Isn’t rock ’n’ roll meant to be a little dangerous and unpredictable?
This isn’t a knock on Bennington, a spirited belter who gives the band a burst of fresh energy and enthusiasm.
“Smile when it hurts,” he sings on “Out of Time” from STP’s “High Rise” EP, and it’s hard not to envision his new bandmates grinning as he speaks.
