Cap a day at MonteLago Village with Kenny G

Pack up the family Saturday and head to Henderson for a visit to the quaint MonteLago Village and an evening concert by saxophonist Kenny G at Lake Las Vegas.

The popular musician, who promises a variety of selections from his award-winning albums, performs at 8 p.m. on the lake's floating stage. Gates open at 6 p.m. Chairs and coolers are not allowed although guests can bring blankets.

Tickets range from $55 to $125 and are available at all Ticketmaster locations or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Before the concert, you can make a day of it by strolling the cobblestone streets of MonteLago Village to shop at the boutiques and art galleries or grab a snack. Or plan dinner at one of the several restaurants in the hotels that surround the lake.

Kenny G began his career playing backup for such musicians as Barry White and Las Vegas' own Liberace. He performed with Jeff Lorber Fusion from 1979 to 1982 but left to pursue a solo career. He released a self-titled debut album on Arista in 1982 and gained added popularity with his album "Duotones" in 1986.
