Chinese New Year, Valentine’s promotions overlap this weekend

This weekend is a triple treat -- three-days long and three holidays to celebrate: Chinese New Year on Saturday, Valentine's Day on Sunday, and President's Day on Monday. Please note that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority anticipates more than 275,000 visitors, so expect nice big crowds.

The Rampart is celebrating the Year of the Tiger on Saturday by giving away a Tiger collectible to all players earning 300 same-day points ($600 coin-in slots, $1,200 coin-in video poker; no point redemption required). Each collectible comes with free slot play or cash.

At 10 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the Orleans will draw 10 names to spin the Year of the Tiger Cash Wheel and win up to $1,000. Entries are based on tracked slot play from Feb. 1.

Celebrate Valentine's Day (as well as the rest of the Sundays in February) with the Palms "Sweetheart's Swipe and Win." Prizes including up to $500 cash, up to $250 in free slot play, spa packages, Visa gift cards, points, point multipliers (normal restrictions apply) and various food offers can be won by swiping your card inside the food court from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Players get one swipe per Sunday.

The El Cortez is giving away a one-pound box of See's Candy for every 1,500 same-day points ($1,500 coin-in) earned today, Saturday and Sunday. The maximum of 15 boxes per player should be sufficient to handle your Valentine's gift list.

Sunday players hitting a royal flush in hearts at Jerry's Nugget will receive a $500 cash bonus and a $25 cash bonus for a straight flush in hearts (no wild cards). Blackjack players receive a 2-to-1 payoff for all naturals in hearts. On Monday, the casino is rebating $20-$100 cash for players losing $100-$500.

Earn 400 points ($400 coin-in; no point redemption required) at the Gold Coast on Sunday (midnight-6 p.m.) and receive a "Warm a Scarf."
