Clear your ear holes with these new CDs

Three new CDs released today worth checking out:

The Lawrence Arms, “Metropole”: These veteran Chicago firebrands drop their first album in eight years and it sounds as if they spent all that time tightening the screws on their tense, tuneful punk.

Periphery, “Clear”: Each member of this Djent sextet composed a song for this EP, which expands upon both the band’s melodic and experimental sensibilities.

Dum Dum Girls, “Too True”: The Dum Dum Girls’ breathy dream pop both anesthetizes and invigorates. “Why be good?” they ask here. “Be beautiful and sad.”
