I'm not even going to specify the various types of fish that often are used interchangeably (by accident or design) because this can be a controversial and even emotional subject.

Suffice it to say there's a lot of confusion about what's what - again, by both accident and design.

But for John Whitney, who's looking for freshwater perch, two Taste of the Town readers have suggestions.

Gerald D. Paul said "good-sized fillets, as big as a man's hand" can be found at Jimmy's Louisiana Market & Deli, 1100 N. Martin Luther King Blvd. (He suggested calling to check on supply.)

Valley View Blvd. Ken Wolt emailed that he gets them at the Downtown3rd Farmers Market, which is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays at 300 N. Casino Center Blvd. ...
