Stars turn out for annual ALS benefit

George Wallace, Gordie Brown, Wally Eastwood and the vocal group Toxic Audio are among the guest stars performing in today's "All-Star Las Vegas," producer David Saxe's annual benefit for ALS of Nevada.

The fundraiser is performed in memory of Saxe's father, Dick Saxe. The longtime Las Vegas bandleader died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, in 2002.

Tickets are $49-$150 for the 6 p.m. show in the V Theater at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Gospel Fest 2008 set for Saturday

Gospel Fest 2008, a celebration honoring Black History Month, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road, in Henderson.

The performance will feature the Victory Missionary Baptist Church Voices of Victory, the Young Adult Praise Dancers and the Mountaintop Faith Ministries Choir.

Admission is free.

Master singers perform spirituals, folk songs

The Las Vegas Master Singers will present "Hand in Hand: An Uplifting Evening of Song in Celebration of Diversity" at 7:30 p.m. today at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave.

The program will include a mix of spirituals and traditional folk songs.

Tickets are $15 and $12 for students and seniors.
