Classical, Broadway tunes featured Sunday

"Rosemary Alvino -- I'm Easily Assimilated," a concert of classical and Broadway music, will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Clark County Library Main Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

In addition to Alvino, Claudio Herrera, resident pianist with the "Instituto Nacional de Belles Artes" in Mexico City, and "Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular" cast member Bruce Ewing also will perform.

Tickets for the show, presented by the Performing Arts Society of Nevada's Las Vegas Lyric Opera, are $15.

Israeli art on display through Feb. 2

"Expressions," a large and diverse collection of Israeli art, will be on display at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, Saturday through Feb. 2.

The free exhibit and fundraiser will include works from more than 150 Israeli artists and artisans. Among the styles are bronze sculpture, Judaica, oil and tapestry paintings and gold and silver jewelry.

A preview reception with Israeli artist and curator Izzy Assour will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets to the reception are $50.

Regular exhibit hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday; from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Thursday; from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 1; and from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 2.
