UNLV Opera ends season with Mozart

The UNLV Opera Theatre will close its 2007-08 season with a production of Mozart's "Così fan tutte (The School for Lovers."

The opera follows two men who pretend to go off to war only to disguise themselves so they can try to seduce each other's fiancee.

Christine Seitz, director of the UNLV Opera Theatre, will direct the production, which also will feature the UNLV Symphony Orchestra.

Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Judy Bayley Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors, military, faculty and staff, and $5 for students with ID.

'St. John Passion' set for Sunday

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society will perform Bach's "St. John Passion" at 3 p.m. Sunday in Artemus Ham Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

The concert will feature the 65-voice Musical Arts Chorus and guest soloists accompanied by the 21-piece Musical Arts Orchestra under the direction of Douglas R. Peterson.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, and the disabled, and $5 for students with ID.
