Feel the Nordic chill of Abigail Williams

Despite originating in Phoenix, Abigail Williams' symphonic black metal is rooted in much chillier climes: the frost-bitten forests of Norway. Equally atmospheric and aggressive, the band eschews the raw production values and gritty vibe that characterizes much American black metal for the sweeping, more orchestral feel of Nordic counterparts like Dimmu Borgir. As such, they'll be bringing a blast of cold air to the desert at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Farm, 5597 S. Rainbow Blvd. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of show; call 233-3276.
