The second annual Boss of the Bars competition will be among the events of the Repeal Day Party on Friday at The Mob Museum, 300 Stewart Ave. The evening will begin with a toast by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman at 7 p.m. Qualifying rounds for the cocktail competition will begin at 7:30 p.m., with finals at 9:30 p.m. The evening also will include food, drink, casino table games, a Roaring ’20s costume contest and live entertainment. Angie Ruvo, owner of the legendary (and now-closed) Venetian Restaurant, will be the guest of honor at a dinner hosted by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and Ruvo’s son, Larry, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar’s Beef, Booze &Broads at the Plaza, 1 Main St. The dinner, which will include the Venetian’s iconic neck bones, is $250 inclusive, and proceeds will benefit Keep Memory Alive. Distill — A Local Bar at 10820 W. Charleston Blvd. has extended its brunch to 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends. New brunch menu items include chicken and waffles and bread pudding french toast with Bananas Foster sauce.

Sticks &Shakes European-style milkshake bar has opened at Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Like the first valley location at Galleria at Sunset, 1300 W.
