Janet Jackson drops out of iHeartRadio music festival

We've received confirmation from Scott Ghertner, Director of Public Relations at MGM Resorts, that Janet Jackson will not be performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival this weekend as scheduled, due to an ear-related issue that prevents her from flying.

While this news is obviously disappointing for fans of Jackson, she's still slated for a pair of dates at the Axis at Planet Hollywood on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, and so far, there has been no word of those dates being postponed or canceled.

The festival, which will feature a performances from the likes of Kanye West, the Killers, Coldplay, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, the Weeknd, Duran Duran, Lil Wayne, David Guetta and Disclosure, among others, kicks off tomorrow night at MGM Grand Garden Arena from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and continues on Saturday with daytime performances at the MGM Resorts before culminating with another round of sets at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.

Tickets for the event are sold out, but the festival is slated to be streamed online at Yahoo Live! and simulcast on a number of stations across the country.
